PHILOSOPHY
Every iKKim’O creation tells a story, reflecting the dedication, history and rich cultural heritage behind it. We invite you to experience the allure of luxury through our handcrafted designs—timeless creations that elevate your style and enrich your life.
iKKim’O is an authentic project that embraces artisanal craftsmanship processes with techniques and materials that reflect the heritage of southeast asian ethnic minorities aiming to cultivate a timeless aesthetic with locally handcrafted pieces favouring quality over quantity.
By preserving traditional know-how, iKKim’O honors craftsmanship, creating one-of-a-kind items that take weeks, sometimes months to perfect.
Cotton
Our cotton garments are made from traditional Indonesian hand weavings, utilizing handmade cotton looms. Skilled artisans work with a variety of natural and organic cotton threads, employing artisanal and environmentally friendly dyeing techniques.
The hand-dyed cotton showcases a range of subtle colors while offering antimicrobial and hypoallergenic properties, ensuring a soft and comfortable finish for each piece.
Our Materials
Cashmere
Our cashmere garments are crafted using the same traditional hand weaving techniques ancestrally utilized for cotton, but with a cashmere weft and silk thread as the fabric's wrap for a lighter touch.
Sourced from Hircus goats in Inner Mongolia, our cashmere benefits from the region's warm summers and harsh winters. Our supplier ensures ethical treatment of animals and supports local breeding communities, backed by six generations of Italian expertise in producing the finest quality cashmere.
They hold certifications from the Sustainable Fiber Alliance (SFA) and Responsible Cashmere Standard (RCS), promoting environmental sustainability, community welfare, and animal rights.
Silk
Our silk garments are crafted from natural organic satin silk sourced from the Zhejiang province in China, renowned for its high-quality fibers.
We combine ancestral methods with cutting-edge technology to ensure excellence in every piece.
A hallmark of our silk is the traditional technique of precise melted wax painting, resulting in the distinctive double-sided patterns characteristic of Javanese batiks. Additionally, our artisanal hand tie dye embraces experimentation and spontaneity, offering designs that range from meticulously calculated folds and rubber band placements to completely abstract dyeing methods.
Immersed in the world of artisanal craftsmanship from a very young age thanks to my mother who owned a bespoke design atelier, my passion for this field was quickly transmitted.
I originally established myself in Indonesia with a different project in mind however when meeting local artisans, my lifetime passion quickly took over, relationships grew, eventually creating iKKim’O in 2018 with the aim to preserve the know-how of several Indonesian ethnic minorities.
Today with my family and community, above all else, I enjoy the journey.
